The Zip Codes
database
This database
comes loaded with nearly 50,000 zipcodes and generally there is little
need to enter them into this database directly.
However, to create a new record click on the New
button and complete all fields in the dialog. The State fills in based on the
Licensee's State.
If the Zip code already exists you get the dialog below.
Adding Zip codes from within other
databases
Because
of the relational nature of FileMaker, as you enter addresses and new Zip codes into the software, new entries in this database are
created. If after entering a Zip Code,
no City and State appears in the current record your
are entering (in Patients, PhoneBook, Insurances),
just enter the new city and select
the state from the pop-up list of approved state abbreviations. Once you do this, this new ZipCode-City-State
combination will be saved for future reference, automatically and
without fuss!
Printing a list of Zipcodes
You
should really never have to print out a list of zipcodes. However, to
print a list click the List
button to get the dialog below. You can print either a partial (Found set after you have completed
a search) or complete list (All)
of zip codes
in the database. If you select ALL the list will be very, very, very
long!
Complete
the print dialogs that follow and make sure paper is in the printer!
